Africa

With 54 countries, Africa is the most multilingual continent in the world and is supremely rich in culture; but in a different way to the more metropolitan manner of places like Europe. There are still tribes of people here living untouched by modernity, content in their simple way of life, and Africa should be treasured for its examples of simple human goodness.

Travelling to Africa to look at ancient history is a rewarding experience - it's widely accepted that the continent is the origin of humanity, with discoveries of our ancestors dating back to over seven million years ago. Evidence of ancient civilizations such as the famous Giza Pyramids in Egypt are abundant in Africa, and can educate students about just how old the world actually is - but also give them a link to long ago by visiting the place where these people lived. 

The wildlife safaris in Africa are amongst some of the best in the world, with opportunities to see huge natural migrations travelling cross-country. The various National Parks here can sometimes be as big as a small European country; the people of Africa are fiercely proud of their nature and wildlife, take pride in protecting them and welcome people keen to learn - South Africa, Zimbabwe or the Serengeti in Tanzania would be particularly good safaris to take students on.

In regards to what sort of climates you can find on the continent, Africa stretches all the way from the northern Mediterranean zones, over the equator and down into the Southern Hemisphere. The weather is generally warm and pleasant throughout the continent, but the desert areas can get dangerously hot and dry - exercise caution if travelling to country within such a zone!
