What are they and what do they involve?

Outdoor activity venues can include a great many things, from relaxation to exhilarating sport! The outdoors includes anything not in a building; you can find activities such as nature trails, adventure playgrounds and parks/gardens outside!

What are the benefits?

Spending time outside is always beneficial, even if it’s just for the fresh air and a change in scenery! Participating in outdoor sport is fantastic for both physical and mental health, and learning about the environment and how to care for it is an important thing for everyone to learn about, regardless of age.

What students is it suitable for?

The outdoors is a great place for all students, so outdoor activity venues will entertain everyone; however, you should make sure that the location is suitable for the group! For example, older teenage students wont have much fun on an adventure playground designed for much smaller children!

Costs?

Outdoor venues will vary greatly in price, as some will be in completely free public areas while some need to charge entry fees; make sure to research this before you set off as you don’t want to surprised!

Safety Implications?

Younger children should always be carefully supervised when outdoors, especially in public areas!

New to PGL in 2009, this impressive Grade 2 listed Mansion House is set in 21 acres of grounds on the Sussex Downs. 

Only 2 hours from central London, 1 hour from the M25, 45 minutes from Brighton and 1 hour from the Channel Tunnel.

Riverside is ideally located for activities based on the water, our programme also includes opportunities for climbing, hiking, team building, orienteering, camping and bushcraft.

The Oxford Canoe and Kayak Club meet at the centre.

We love outdoor adventure activities, and we want to show you why we love them. Our Isle of Wight Adventure Activities are based across the whole of the Isle of Wight with its surf beaches, wooded hill sides, exposed downs, cliffs and more!

Excellent water facilities, accommodation, a campsite, Family Fun Park, Life Fitness Gym and marvellous nature trails for cycling and walking.

This delightful French château was built in 1714. It is situated in 40 acres of beautiful parkland, with its own private lake. 

Colwick Park Adventure Centre was built in 2005 to provide adventurous activities and environmental education for young people in Nottingham.

CRS Adventures is a family run outdoor activities centre run by the Sell family.

360 Beach and Watersports is a unique multisport facility situated at the heart of Swansea Bay, a stunning natural resource that lends itself to both land and water based activity. 360 opened in September 2012 and offers opportunities for individuals and groups of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to get involved with a range of sports and activities.

At our PGL centre, as well as recently constructed accommodation, dining room and indoor activity zone, there are more than 20 activities all situated on site. Marchants is also the only centre to have the awesome new Powerfan freefall activity!

Leeson House, the ideal venue for Primary to A Level fieldtrips, is a secluded and comfortable manor house situated near Swanage on the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.

Broadstone Warren is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Activties include Archery, Abseiling, Swimming and Zip Wiring.

Hesley Wood offers a fantastic location to learn by doing in a safe, secure environment. With on site activities, which will challenge young people to try new things, develop confidence and above all have FUN!

Offering everything from fun activities such as Canoeing, Mountain Biking and Bouldering, for individuals and groups at Cool Centres across Ireland.

Programmes can be planned to compliment a school’s curriculum or simply provide an exciting and challenging adventurous day.
