We welcome you to The Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin, Tewkesbury with Walton Cardiff. Commonly known as Tewkesbury Abbey.

We are an inclusive, modern Anglo-Catholic parish inspiring and equipping people for their Christian lives through worship, Christian nurture, life together, celebrating the arts and serving our neighbourhood and the world.

Whether you come to pray, to marvel at our history or to enjoy our architecture, we hope that your visit allows you to enjoy the peace and beauty of our church.

Entry is free but we would ask all visitors to leave a donation towards the upkeep of the Abbey.

Guided Tours

Are you looking for somewhere interesting to take a club, society or a group a friends for a visit? Tewkesbury Abbey could provide what you have been looking for.

Our team of highly knowledgeable guides will be delighted to share that knowledge with you. From Easter to October our team of Abbey Guides provide regular tours of the Abbey during weekdays.

Tower Tours

Occasionally during the year we are able to open the tower for guided tours. We are also able to offer pre-booked tours of the Tower. Please call the Office for details.
