Oriel Wrecsam

Oriel Wrecsam is the premier venue for Contemporary Visual and Applied Arts in North East Wales. We are in the process of developing a clearer strategy for the arts in Wrexham.

We are currently in the process of moving offsite to develop our new arts and creative industries hub. With significant support from Wrexham County Borough Council, the Arts Council of Wales and Welsh Government the project is about to enter design development stage.

Our new offsite home is located on Chester St, right in the town centre, and part of the large market and multi-storey car park we plan to develop. We recently undertook a feasibility study on the site and this was undertaken by architects Ash Sakula. The proposed development will put the visual arts at the heart of a lively and innovative centre that will also incorporate studio provision for artists and creative industries, learning studios, artists gardens, a curated cinema programme, cafe/bar, flexible performance space, retail offer and market provision. We hope to develop this project in partnership with other organisations in the local area.
