Amazing animal adventures

New Forest Wildlife was originally a Butterfly Farm and later became the Nature Quest Wildlife Centre.

Carol and Roger Heap and their son Ed Heap, who have been working in wildlife conservation for most of their lives, took over the park 17 years ago and later re-named the centre the New Forest Wildlife Park.

Education

Open to all schools, nurseries, scouts, brownies etc

GOLD – FULLY GUIDED VISIT

Experienced members of staff (1 member of staff to every 15 children approx.) will stay with your group throughout your visit and will take you on a conducted tour of the park. The Education Centre will be available for your use, where your group will be able to leave belongings and have lunch if required.

SILVER – SELF GUIDED VISIT

On arrival a Guide will welcome you to the New Forest Centre.
and show you to our study room where you will be given an introductory talk. Comprehensive notes will be provided to support your tour

BRONZE - NON-GUIDED VISIT

This is for groups who would prefer to make their own way around the park  

Please note: Groups booking a non-guided visit are not allocated a Tour Guide and do not have access to the Education Centre.

Pre- visit and Risk Assessment

Upon receipt of your booking you will be sent a confirmation letter and a risk assessment; the confirmation letter allows 2 teachers admission to the zoo for a pre-visit

Robin Philips

Education Officer Robin heads our school visits programme and offers a wealth of learning and information for school parties. He is aided by several experienced school guides.

His 30 years’ experience in primary schools - 15 years as a head teacher - leave him well equipped to offer an excellent National Curriculum-based education programme.

His guided tours also take in our Go Wild! adventure playgrounds so children can let off some well- deserved steam.
