The McManus: Dundee's Art Gallery & Museum
The McManus: Dundee's Art Gallery & Museum
The McManus: Dundee’s Art Gallery & Museum is a splendid Gothic Revival-style building housing Dundee’s main collection. McManus’ displays offer a fascinating insight into Dundee, through exhibitions of Art, History and the Environment.
There are 8 galleries within The McManus, which are laid out on two floors.
Visitors can embark on a journey through 400 million years, and witness how a small settlement developed into the City of Dundee as it is today.
From exhibits relating to the life of early man in the area, stunning paintings and decorative art through to artefacts from industries past and present, the City’s collections, many of which are recognised as being of national significance, give an insight into Dundee and its people.

About our Team
The Creative Learning Team can advise visiting groups on the content of exhibitions, displays, programmes and learning resources, such as educators' packs, 'hands-on' interactives and multi-media interpretation.
Creative Learning Suite
Our learning spaces encourage exploration and creativity. Our suite includes a creative studio workshop space, study space, IT access, cloakroom and accessible toilet.
As the largest Creative Learning space, the Studio is dedicated to the development of 'hands-on' creative activity, providing opportunities for visitors to participate in artist-led workshops and handling sessions. This light, south-facing space can accommodate large school or community groups.
The Study Space houses a unique range of interactive learning resources plus IT and internet access. As an open access drop-in space it allows families to experience different activities linked to our collection..
