The Donkey Sanctuary

Our mission is to transform the quality of life for donkeys, mules and people worldwide through greater understanding, collaboration and support, and by promoting lasting, mutually life-enhancing relationships.

We have a network of Donkey Sanctuaries across the UK and at our Head Office - The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth - you can come and meet around 500 of our 3,000 donkeys and mules in our care. Can you find the gentle giant Poitou donkeys, or our gorgeous adoption donkeys? Come and cuddle our main yard donkeys or spot a miniature in one of the fields!

If you can't visit us in Devon why not drop into one of our donkey assisted therapy centres in Belfast, Birmingham, Ivybridge, Leeds, Manchester to cuddle some of their donkeys. Each of our centres offer donkey assisted therapy to hundreds of local school children with additional needs as well as provide outreach services in their communities.
