The Burrell Collection
The Burrell Collection
In the heart of Pollok Country Park, this award-winning building houses a unique collection in a beautiful woodland setting. The Burrell Collection is one of the greatest ever created by one person, comprising over 8,000 objects.
Our displays range from work by major artists including Rodin, Degas and Cézanne, to important examples of late medieval art, Chinese and Islamic art, Ancient Civilizations and much more.
The Burrell regularly hosts temporary exhibitions, and runs an extensive programme of events and activities for both adults and families with children.
You can create a giant sculpture of artwork out of mud, sticks and natural materials outside in the grounds, then go indoors and build a giant forest with nothing but card, sticky tape and scissors.
Films, Talks, Walks And Tours
Along with our Family Films, we also show Classic Cinema: Films for grown-ups, on the third Sunday of every month, with an additional screening on the Wednesday prior.
There is a series of weekly talks, every Wednesday, given by curators and other museum staff. These Curator's Favourites talks give an expert insight into specific objects at the Burrell.
Tours
The museum also hosts Themed Tours given by our dedicated team of Volunteer Guides, as they focus on different aspects of our collection. We also offer daily guided tours that can bring fresh understanding to even the most seasoned visitor. The tours are free, and there are two scheduled each day; one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The Burrell Guides are trained volunteers.
We also run enjoyable monthly walks around Pollok Park, with specific themes and objectives.
