Black Watch - The Museum of The Black Watch
Black Watch - The Museum of The Black Watch
Located in the city of Perth, The Black Watch Castle & Museum is one of the top visitor attractions in Perthshire and includes the Copper Beech Cafe, the Museum Shop and the Regimental Museum.
Scotland's Black Watch is an elite military regiment whose history stretches back almost three centuries.
We're a Family Friendly Museum and a great venue for a school trip out in Perth.
Learning
The Black Watch Castle & Museum is committed to improving access to collections for all.
In particular, we are keen to use the educational potential of collections to facilitate formal and informal learning.
Part of the redevelopment of our site included the building of a bespoke Education Room. We now have a dedicated space to host events, classes and other groups.
Museum staff can be booked to give talks and lectures outwith the Castle to groups of all sizes, ages and interests - please contact the Museum.
Visits to the Museum
Special programmes are available for educational visits involving tours of the Museum (adapted to the age of the group), dressing up in period uniforms, learning from primary sources, object handling and more. Detailed information is available on request.
Outreach
We are also happy to visit schools to carry out outreach sessions in the classroom. Speak with our Learning & Audiences Officer to arrange a bespoke session and book a slot. Please read the relevant information packs below before getting in touch.
