The Ashmolean Museum

The Ashmolean Museum is packed full of archaeology and art works from all over the world. Families can discover mummies in ancient Egypt, find coins from ancient Greece, and travel through time to find modern paintings, statues and more.

Home to the University of Oxford’s world-class collections of art and archaeology. There is so much to discover, from paintings and statues, to ancient Egyptian mummies and samurai warriors.

To help you search the galleries, there is always a range of family gallery trails available at the information desk to capture the kids’ interest. They have separate ones for younger and older children to present an appropriate challenge.

We offer a programme of regular family friendly drop-ins where you can come and get arty and make something to take home. Special drop ins for under 5s are also available.
