Arnolfini Art Gallery

Arnolfini Art Gallery

In a fantastic waterside location at the heart of Bristol’s harbourside, Arnolfini is one of Europe’s leading centres for the contemporary arts, presenting innovative, experimental work in the visual arts, performance, dance, film, music and events, accompanied by a programme of learning and participation activities. Five exhibition spaces, a theatre/cinema auditorium, Reading Room and Light/Dark Studios are housed in the Grade II listed, fully accessible building. The converted warehouse also contains one of the country’s best arts Shops as well as a Café Bar serving the best in local and seasonal produce.

Entrance to the building and the exhibition spaces is completely free

... making Arnolfini an ideal place to spend some time whether you've just got a few minutes or a few hours to spare.

The perfect place to soak up the sun

Sitting on the quayside with a drink on a sunny evening is a quintessentially Bristol experience. Arnolfini’s Café Bar serves a menu of mediterranean inspired, locally sourced food and fairtrade tea and coffee.

Arnolfini welcomes visits from schools and other education organisations. All our visits are facilitated by our experienced Learning Team.

We encourage dialogue and exchange to support and challenge. We also use practical activities to explore ideas, methods and processes, responding to the multiple ways in which students interpret contemporary artwork.

Arnolfini has no permanent collection and as a result the sessions offered will relate to the exhibition shown at the time of your visit. We advise that you check the exhibitions listings for information about current and upcoming exhibitions and consider arranging a pre-visit before bringing your group. Visits are bespoke depending on age, interest of the group and curriculum connections. Most importantly we want visits to be relevant to you and your students.
