The Council for Learning Outside the Classroom oversee the awarding of a range of Quality Badges which are specific to the particular organisation. Read more about these below.

 

For LOtC Providers

Awarded by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom, the LOtC Quality Badge is a national award combining the essential elements of provision – learning and safety – into ONE easily recognisable and trusted accreditation scheme for ALL types of Learning Outside the Classroom provider organisation. The LOtC Site Provider Award

The LOtC Site Provider Award is intended to recognise those organisations which actively welcome schools onto their sites and ensure that those sites and any other services provided meet the needs of schools. The LOtC Resource Provider Award 

The LOtC Resource Provider Award is intended to recognise those organisations that provide products and services which genuinely assist teachers in delivering LOtC, and work with users to ensure that this is the case. For Schools

The LOtC Mark is the first national accreditation for schools which recognises and supports the development of Learning Outside the Classroom across all subject areas. Comprising of three levels, the LOtC Mark is intended not only to recognise existing exemplary provision, but also to assist and support schools in developing their LOtC offer. Cholderton Charlie’s Farm is a unique activity centre on the border of Wiltshire and Hampshire, and an absolute must for animal lovers.

Its Rare Breeds Farm and Education Centre makes it a fantastic place for young people to learn about endangered species and the environment.

The Hall has small, but charming, walled gardens running down to the moat.

At Ringsfield Hall we wish to 'be with' children, not to 'do to' them, and to offer a nurturing approach, taking us to the children's side of the experience, not the adult side.

Located in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park with the mountains, rivers and lakes on our doorstep. It is the perfect location for going off and having adventures in the great outdoors.

This spectacular wetland site covers an area of 450 hectares following the River Idle northwards. The size of 600 football pitches, it is one of the largest sites for nature conservation in the East Midlands.

Highfields Happy Hens is an open farm set within the beautiful South Derbyshire countryside.

Jaguars have been manufactured at the 112 acre Castle Bromwich site since 1966. A lot of things are changing on site at the moment as JLR invest £300 million on new body shops and other site developments. We are now a state-of-the-art production facility, building high performance, luxury motor vehicles.

We hold a LOtC Quality Badge and provide excellent school trip experiences and resources for all visiting schools and age groups.

The only place in the UK that boasts four different types of water: a placid water lake, and next to it the flowing River Itchen, which feeds into the tidal estuary, which in turn creates white water at low tide.

They have been providing Outdoor Education for almost 60 years to schools from Staffordshire and beyond, although it was another 20 years before it began to take the shape that you may recognise today.

Staffordshire Wildlife Trust’s HQ, the Wolseley Centre, is one of the county’s hidden gems and it's completely free to visit.

The house and its gardens sit high up over looking hundreds of acres of parkland. Winding its way through this beautiful parkland is the well known river Avon which stretches the full length of the 7,000 acre estate.

The Farmyard is at the centre of the Farm, and home to many much loved animals including great characters such as Bayleaf the Donkey & Bentley the Goat.

Schoolboy Falls From 60ft Cliff on School Trip

A 15-year-old boy fell 60ft over the edge of a cliff whilst on a geography school trip, miraculously only suffering minor injuries.
